House fire blazes on Corbin Lane

A house fire began in the back bedroom of 2313 Corbin Lane on Sunday around 5 p.m.

The flames quickly spread in the room, shattering a window on the west side of the house.

"The flames jumped to the next door house and caught it on fire," said Greg Nelson, a nearby neighbor.

No cause has been determined yet, Battallion Chief Ron Heverly said.

"We're not there yet. Once everything is checked, we'll start the investigation," Heverly said.

The homeowners were being interviewed, he said.

A pillar of dense, black smoke could be seen for blocks all around the area as four engines and one fire truck responded to the call.

There were no injuries, Heverly said.
